Should You Use Your Personal Name or Brand Name in Guest Emails?

Use both. Your brand name needs to be in the from line of every email, and your personal name should appear in the greeting or subject. There are a million Peters and Steves in the world, but very few Carolina Sand Lodges. People will remember your brand when you put it front and center, and that recall matters even if they're not ready to book right now.

When someone is clearing out their inbox, they still glance at the from name. If they see your brand, it lodges in their mind. The same principle applies to SMS. Don't just say, "Hey, come book for the spring." Say, "Hey, it's Steve from Carolina Sand Lodge. We loved hosting you. Come book for the spring." Even if they move on without responding, they've seen your brand name, and that awareness compounds over time.

Your personal name matters too, because hospitality is about relationships. If guests don't care about a personal connection, they'll just book a Hilton. Part of what they're paying for when they choose a short-term rental is the experience of interacting with someone who cares. Including a team photo on your about page or in your emails humanizes the experience even further. Smart marketing balances brand recognition with personal warmth.
